Damian Milverton

Director, Insights and Influence

Damian is Director of Insights and Influence at BFA, leading a team that strives to show and share BFA’s work in promoting tech-enabled financial services as a way to accelerate the path out of poverty. He is a veteran of more than 30 years in the media and communications fields, with a focus on driving support for poverty reduction efforts globally through better understanding of the plight of the poor and the solutions that work to help them improve their lives. Damian spent several years as a communications consultant to multilateral institutions, NGOs, and think tanks after serving as media manager for the World Bank at its headquarters in Washington, DC. After gaining a BA in Journalism, he began his career as a finance reporter for several newspapers in Australia before joining Dow Jones & Co., where his work was published regularly in The Wall Street Journal and in other newspapers internationally.
